Paskirties naudininkas atskleidžiamas kaip daugialypis norminamasis objektas, keliantis ne tik norminimo, bet ir teorinės sampratos problemų.This study focuses on the concept of dative of purpose and its standardisation issues. The aim of the study is to answer the question of the relationship between the standardisation issues of this type of dative and its theoretical conception, which is presented in grammars and other works describing the grammatical structure of the Lithuanian language. The problems of standardisation are examined on the basis of current and previous works codifying and discussing the norms of the use of the dative of purpose. After examining the theoretical concept of the dative of purpose from grammars and other descriptions of grammatical structure, and the problems of its standardisation and the normative concept from normative works, the two concepts are compared and the extent of correspondence between them is assessed. Dative of purpose is revealed in this study as a complex normative object that raises not only problems of standardisation but also problems of theoretical conception.
