11th edition. — W.B. Saunders Company, 1979. — 2212 p.
In the preface to the Fourth Edition, Nelson expressed the hope that that a single-volume work could be prepared which would meet the needs both of practitioners and of students. We have tried to be faithful to that goal, and to produce a concise volume helpful to all health workers and students who care for children or want to know about them of their problems. The Eleventh Edition is, nonetheless, larger than earlier ones, as new knowledge and concerns have expanded old sections and as essential new ones have been added.
