The selection criteria were among the most varied, such as: beauty prizes, exceptional combinations, appreciations of the great masters of chess and specialized chroniclers, the "Informator" rankings, the importance of chess development periods, the inclusion in the book of all chess personalities of world value and those of national value, depending on some special achievements, historical aspects and in general the parties that have been cataloged by specialized publications as anthology pages.
