Graham John. Women in Chess: Players of the Modern Age
Jefferson (USA): McFarland & Company Publishers, 1987. - 115 p. - ISBN: 0-89950-232-6.
This book was written at a time when young women began to realize that they could compete on equal terms with men; that their play wasn't emotional or irrational, but based on the same playing skills as the males. It also marked the transition from the domination of state controlled Soviet women players to young experts in Sweden and Yugoslavia. Since then the three Polgar sisters have changed the face of women's chess.
The book is well illustrated and replete with excellent games.
