Pergamon Press, 1971. - 392p. In accordance with the general plan of the Landau and Lifshitz Course of Theoretical Physics, the present volume deals with relativistic quantum theory in the broad sense : the theory of all phenomena which depend upon the finite velocity of light, including the whole of the theory of radiation. This branch of theoretical physics is still far from completion, but the authors have chosen to deal with that material which is reasonably firmly established, thus devoting most of the book to quantum electrodynamics. This text demands a higher degree of previous knowledge on the part of the reader than do other volumes in the Course, and is therefore suitable for postgraduate study.
